I just completed the Northwest Section Jr. PGA Championship Qualifier at Tumwater Valley Golf Course. The winner of the event received an exemption into the Jr. PGA Championship in Ohio. I placed fourth and had a great time. I played well, shooting a 72 followed by a round of 70, for a two under par 142 total. Next on my schedule is the AJGA Las Vegas Junior Open in Henderson, Nevada June 8-11. I am looking forward to this event and hope to play well.

State
Yesterday I completed my high school State Championship at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, Washington. I finished third with back-to-back rounds of 70 for a four under par total of 140. I had a great time at the tournament and played some very consistent golf. These are some pictures from the tournament. The signature hole is an island green in the shape of an apple. This hole can be a little bit intimidating but I was able to par it both days. Overall, the tournament was a great experience and I am looking forward to improving on my third place finish next year.
My next tournament is the Junior PGA Championship Qualifier at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on May 30-31.

The US Open
Today I played in the US Open local qualifier at the Home Course. The Home Course is 7385, yards long and has a course rating and slope of 75.7/130. This doesn't sound too bad except for the fact that this course is at sea level and it was raining sideways and blowing 20 mph. The greens even had to squeegeed! Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the next stage. I learned a lot from the round and look forward to playing the event again next year. All-in-all I had a great time in the rain.
