I just arrived home from the Washington State Amateur at Palouse Ridge in Pullman, which is Washington State University's home course. I started the first round with a one under par 71 and was inside the top ten. Unfortunately, however, I faltered on the second day shooting an 82 with two lost balls and missed the cut by two shots. The course was difficult due to the strong winds. Palouse Ridge is 7,308 yards long and has a course rating of 75.9 and a 140 slope! This was one of the more difficult courses I have played. While disappointed that I missed the cut, I still had a great time and learned some things from my second round that I need to focus on. All-in-all, the trip was a great learning experience. I am looking forward to the rest of the summer and my next tournament.

All golfers have ups and downs in their career. You have all the tools it takes to be a top performer, so keep a good attitude and keep pressing forward. You are still at the beginning of a great ride that will last the rest of your life, so hang in there and think good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIt is all part of the process. You have stepped up your game and the level of competition will be higher and the venues more difficult but if it were easy everyone would do it!
