I finished the US Open local qualifier yesterday. Unfortunately I did not advance to sectionals. I have been playing well lately and hitting some great shots but I struggled a little on the greens and with my approach shots yesterday. The greens were very fast and difficult and the rough was very thick. The course was so much fun to play but definitely different than what I am use to playing. All of the pins were in tough spots. On hole 18 I watched a player hit a 15 foot putt past the hole, off the green, and 10 yards into the fairway! I had a good time at the event and am looking forward to my next one. I have an 18 hole tournament on Saturday and then have my state championship May 25-26.

It is all part of the experience. You cannot always play great. Most golfers never get to try at this level.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gary...a great experience on probably the fastest course in western Washington! "Go get 'em" on the next one!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at your state tournament!
